Inspired by a deep sense of place, Lundie’s House is our art hotel on the edge of the wild northern coast.
Here refined interiors and a profound sense of comfort combine to create a house of simple beauty and stillness - a beautiful basecamp for exploring the landscape around us.
We offer four en-suite double rooms in the main house, a two-bedroom self-catering bothan and three cosy studio rooms in our converted steading. Lundies House offers bed and breakfast to all guests, as well as a hearty supper for guests in the main house each evening.
Into the wild.
A haven of life’s lost luxuries.
When was the last time you truly stopped? When did you last have a day with no particular agenda, where you could wander freely in a wild landscape or sit and read all day long? These slow, easy days truly are one of life’s lost luxuries. At Lundies House, you’ll find everything you need to pull into the slow lane.
For guests in the main house, the day starts with a hearty, candle-lit breakfast in the dining room - a cosy, fire-side space with a four-wall mural by the celebrated artists, Clare Basler. After that, adventure awaits. You can take one of our e-bikes on a day long trek into the depths of the wild or along the brooding coastline. You can conquer Ben Loyal or Ben Hope, two of Scotland’s more dramatic mountain challenges, or take a wild swim at Sutherland’s raw and beautiful beaches.
For a slower day, you might like to choose a book from the Lundies library, stocked full of design, art and literature. Curl up by the fire in the sitting room with foraged tea, or maybe a homemade kombucha in the cosy snug. On fine, dry evenings, you can relax by the fire in the courtyard with a glass of wine or some local gin as the embers crackle into the air. In the evenings, return to the dining room for a good supper and some great wines.
